There are times when leaks or other issues need to be repaired during construction defect litigation. As soon as an issue is discovered, please contact our office at The Naumann Law Firm to inform us of the issue. If it is a life and safety issue, please address us promptly and inform our office as soon as possible.
After you inform us of the issue, we will send a representative and/or expert to document and investigate the immediate issue. Additionally, we need to alert the defense parties of the repair occurring. The defense team will also send a representative. This is normal practice in all our cases.
For illustration purposes, if it’s raining and water is pouring in from the ceiling, do what is necessary to prevent your personal property from water damage. Perform an emergency patch-up job on your roof, if needed, but make sure you notify our office as soon as possible.
If the emergency issue occurs after hours, or on the weekend, call a repairman. Make sure you document the leak and repairs (take photos or video) and send copies of the repair bills and photos to our office. Many times, the repairman can and will take photos and videos for you.
We understand this may not be the first time you are repairing this issue, it can be stressful and overwhelming, but it is in your best interest to keep us informed at all times of any and all new damage or repairs.
