Before Disaster Strikes: How to Be Prepared
Our Director of Business Development and Client Relations here at The Naumann Law Firm, Elaine Gower, shared her expertise on preparing our homeowner association communities and individual homes prior to a disaster in the Fall/Winter 2019 issue of Vision Magazine by CACM.
Elaine wrote an article titled “Before Disaster Strikes: What Homeowners and Community Managers Should Know About FEMA.”
In the article, Elaine explains how it’s important for communities to has disaster plans before, during, and after a disaster. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) can help communities put disaster plans into place to protect homes and communities. Elaine further discusses the many ways FEMA can help with emergency response. The article also talks about three important things to consider when planning for an emergency: communication strategies, an easy-access disaster kit, and knowledge of local shelter, which Elaine discusses in further detail.
