The Naumann Law Firm, PC Recovers $1,400,000 in a Construction Defect Lawsuit
SAN DIEGO, August 18, 2020/ — The following is being issued by The Naumann Law Firm, PC.
The Naumann Law Firm announced today that attorneys, William Naumann Esq., and Loren Shiu, Esq., recently recovered $1,400,000.00 in damages on behalf of Highridge Condominiums, Inc.
The firm filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court – Torrance Division on behalf of Plaintiff, Highridge Condominiums, Inc., against Glenmont Cal-Coast RPV, LLC, developer of the project.
The below grade parking structure at the project leaked, cracked, and showed efflorescence throughout. Additionally, visible damage at the exterior of the project included, significant stucco cracks and loose or damaged floor tiling throughout common area walkways.
In addition, leaks at the private balcony decks caused damage to the interior of units and soffits below the decks. Window leaks caused damage to framing, drywall and flooring. Finally, decorative tiles on the sides of the buildings started to fall off and were a health and safety concern.
Destructive testing at the below grade parking structure showed control joints were not properly spaced, inadequate steel reinforcement, and low subgrade compaction. Testing around the deck and walkway areas showed blocked weep drains and lack of adhesion along deck waterproofing, among other failing issues.
Following multiple mediations before mediator, Ross Hart Esq., the firm successfully obtained a settlement for the Association in the amount of $1,400,000.00.
